SISDev Donated Seedlings to the Nigerian Army Barracks, Bauchi State

Afforestation is an important strategy in tackling deforestation and other climate change related problems, as such becomes necessary for the communities to adopt the technique of tree planting. SISDev as an NGO played a vital role in community services by donating 500 seedlings to the Nigerian Army barracks Bauchi State.

SISDev Donated Seedlings to the Rotract Club, A.T.B.U Bauchi

SISDev as an Organisation engages in several community services like tree planting activities with partners. Consequently, a number of seedlings were donated to the Rotract club of the University. The main reason for supporting such exercise among others, is to help promote carbon sequestration, provide oxygen and improve air quality in the environment.

Deforestation, unlike most other environmental challenges, is anthropogenic and the tragedy is that the people most affected by its effects are the least able to do do anything about it. Therefore, a tree planting campaign was initiated and the use of LPG at the occasion was suggested to the community by SISDev as an effort to tackle the issue. The event witnessed the presence of chief Imam, Commissioner Housing and Environment, Chairmen of the 20 local Government, DG BASEPA, director forestry Bauchi and SISDev’s Team. The event held at the conference Hall of Development Exchange Centre (DEC) Bauchi.

SISDev provided 500 seedlings as a support to Dambam Development Concern forum with the goal of promoting the provision of shield to the wind, reducing flood and erosion, controlling desert encroachment and providing stability to the soil. The event took place at Dambam community on 13th August 2019.
